Indian Prime Minister congratulates President
Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has congratulated the Sri Lankan President on his resounding victory at the general election.
Reports said that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh phoned the President and extended his greetings. Since the initial results were being issued it was clear that the alliance was leading in the first general election that was being held after the elimination of terrorism.
The Indian Prime Minister has wished the President strength to steer the country towards development fulfilling the people’s aspirations.
