The Government Spokesman and the Minister of Mass Media and Information Mr. Keheliya Rambukwella said that the government’s stance on the Panel of Advisors appointed by the U.N.Secretary General has not changed and will not be changed.
He said that the government has communicated its strong protest about the appointment of this Panel and response from the U.N.Secretary General is awaited. Mr. Rambukwella addressing the Media Conference explained that many friendly nations of Sri Lanka have expressed their objection about appointing this illegal Panel.
“The UN secretary General rather than acting on his own wish he should have come through the UN General Council or the Security Council with the approval of the members States when handling the issues like this” said the minister.
